On June 15, 2022, Microsoft’s Internet Explorer officially "passed away," prompting a South Korean software engineer, Jung Ki-Young, to create a gravestone in its memory. He invested approximately $330 USD (430,000 Won) and dedicated a month to this project.
The gravestone, which quickly gained popularity online, features the recognizable "e" logo of the browser and marks its 27-year journey, spanning from August 17, 1995, to June 15, 2022. The inscription humorously declares, “He was a good tool to download other browsers.”
Reflecting on his creation, Jung described his mixed emotions towards Internet Explorer, noting that many users shared a similar love-hate relationship with the browser. He expressed, "It was a pain in the ass, but I would call it a love-hate relationship because Explorer itself once dominated an era."
