How I Earned $123,655 in Profit on Amazon with Minimal Effort

Chapter 1: My Amazon Journey
It's often said that if you truly valued money, you'd be utilizing platforms like Rakuten while shopping at retailers such as Walmart and Target to save cash.
They have rewarded me with over $13,400 for purchases I was already planning to make for my solo business. Their support is also what allows this article to be accessible for free. Sign up through this link and receive $30 after your first transaction.
For the past three years, I’ve been sharing details about the profits generated from my Amazon venture. While starting this type of business was never part of my aspirations, it has enabled me to create a life filled with freedom and satisfaction.
As of late 2023, establishing an Amazon business remains one of the most viable options for anyone looking to achieve similar success without prior business experience.
Branching Out: My Amazon Ventures
My Amazon enterprise consists of three main branches:
- Non-fiction book arbitrage (read more if you're unfamiliar with this concept)
- LEGO investment sales (read more if you want to learn about this)
- Various online arbitrage opportunities
These branches fluctuate independently throughout the year, making it an unconventional arbitrage business model. My focus is on targeting high-profit margin products while minimizing my workload. This often involves purchasing items and waiting some time before reselling them.
I prioritize efficiency over merely increasing numbers. Let's take a look at the figures for December 2023:
- Total Sales: $12,487.40
- Items Sold: 118
- Cost of Goods + Fees: $8,439.86
- Total Profit: $4,047.54
- Hours Worked: ~4–5
- Average Profit Per Item: $34.30
- Total Profit for 2023: $123,655.51
You might think that December would be a peak month for sales, but my results didn’t reflect that. This was a strategic choice that allowed me to work very little during this period. Instead of competing with countless other sellers for LEGO investments, I decided to hold back and maintain higher prices. This approach will enable me to secure greater profits per set in January, February, and even March, as Q1 historically sees a rise in LEGO prices for retired sets.
The sales during December mostly stemmed from items I had previously priced too low or from books sold late in the month. January is typically one of the busiest times for non-fiction textbooks.
A Promising LEGO Investment
Remember the LEGO set I mentioned in last month’s update that was selling for $200? It continued to sell even as I increased the price. I aim to sell these sets between $250 and $300 whenever the market allows, providing alerts for sales as they happen. This is a fantastic return considering I purchased them for $80 last year!
The year 2023 was not only remarkable for my business, but it also proved to be fruitful for several newsletter readers. Here are a couple of success stories:
(I’d include more, but I want to keep things concise, and I believe you understand the message.)
Both individuals likely made as much profit in December as I did on a monthly basis when I worked as an aerospace engineer—all from the comfort of their homes, with the potential to earn even more in 2024.
My Vision for Others
As I often emphasize, my objective isn't to turn everyone into Amazon sellers and LEGO investors. Instead, I aim to introduce as many people as possible to the concept of generating income through sales rather than trading time for money.
Ultimately, the path you take with this newfound knowledge is up to you. The truth is straightforward: to thrive, you must sell something. If you’re not selling your own products, you'll likely be assigned to sell someone else's.
