Chapter 1: The Medium Experience

For the past week, I've been actively sharing my thoughts on Medium, covering a variety of subjects. To my surprise, the response has been overwhelmingly positive, leading to a notable increase in followers, views, reads, and even earnings.

However, I want to address a perplexing behavior I've observed among many writers. It seems that people frequently visit posts, give them a clap, highlight random sections, and leave comments without actually engaging with the content. This raises an important question: why should someone invest time in reading your post if you aren’t willing to dedicate a few moments to read theirs?

In truth, engaging with the work of others can be mutually beneficial. It fosters a sense of community and trust among writers. Personally, I approach reading by browsing through my Medium feed or following links shared on social media. If I find an article compelling, I’ll read it in full. Even if the topic doesn’t pique my interest, I try to spend at least a couple of minutes on it. This small effort not only supports the author but may also encourage them to continue their writing journey.
